Today was an early day packed with exciting activities that we are going to do and places in which we are going. Unfortunately, Meiling illness worsens and we were a bit unsure if we should leave her alone at the dorm. With the help of Mr. Puah, we left for the trip while he helps us looks after her. We left for the trip feeling uncertain and worried but it was too late to return as the bus already took off. We came to the East Lake and got to see a magnificent view of the lake and its amazing sight. However the lake was not the only thing that we were impressed about. The fishing pole of the locals was quite a sight to see as it is big and much longer than the ones used in Singapore. After the breath of fresh air and hanging out with nature, we headed off to the Hubei Sheng Bo Shi Guan, which is a museum located in Wuhan. We got to see the tomb of a Marquis. From there, we got to understand a little bit more on the history of the Chinese culture. When the Marquis dies, many of his servants were made to bury with him by killing themselves with poison. Most were buried young with 23 female, consisting of musicians, concubines and servants died along with him. The ages of the female range from 13 to 26 and the remains of a dog was also found. After seeing the tomb, we moved on to see the valuables of the Marquis which represents his status. One of his pieces was the most expensive porcelain which cost 5 billion RMB as it shows four unique pictures on it. We also got to see many porcelain artifacts there and this includes plates, bowl and pots.
We went to have lunch at the restaurant right after that and it was delicious. Besides a wonderful meal, we actually got to see a wedding ceremony which was being carried out that time!! There were some differences between their weddings and ours. The bride has to stay outside and welcome the guest together with her husband while in Singapore, the bride stayed in the room till the wedding starts.
After that, we went to visit the Huang He Lou (Yellow Crane Tower) and we got to see a breathtaking sight as we watched the streets below us from above. Snap! Snap! With that, we ended our trip to the tower and headed to shop.
Dinner was yet another simple meal at the same soup store with the local student. Then we went to get fruits and in turn buy breakfast for our teacher to thank them for their help. It was embarrassing and troublesome for us as we had forgotten to get our room keys and locked ourselves outside the room. It was a ‘fruitful’ trip as we not only got what we want but also more as we walked down streets to experience their night life.
The flu bug is getting on me. I guess it is my cue to bed? Good night;)
